Programs
Portland Youth Media has focused in developing programs that engage students in the latest technology transforming youth from being passive media consumers to active producers facilitating community engagement, knowledge of media, youth empowerment and individual transformation.
Every time a youth participates in one of our programs he or she works intensively with a crew of youth and media professionals to create and produce videos that focus on community issues that later will be distribute through our PCM channels and the internet.
Youth Media Club
Through becoming active producers of media, students will have the opportunity to acquire a host of skills for success in college or in a career, including teamwork and collaborative skills, critical and innovative thinking, reflective learning and creative risk taking.
Introduction to Multimedia
18 hours program where students learn elements of video Production from pre-production planning, production, to post-production editing with Final Cut PRO Software.
Career Readiness
The Youth Media Career and Development program provides a concentrated media training and media internship for Portland Metro youth. The program curriculum focuses on those skills most needed in media careers. Participants practice their new skills during the program internship segment.
Video Camp
During summer and spring break we offer an intensive video production immersion. From Monday through Friday Students meet for a half or a full day workshop to learn aspects of video production like – Documentary, narrative, music video and the like.
Customized Workshops
We partner with non profits organization to provide concentrated media training.
