Editing with Final Cut Pro: Framing the Message

In this six-session workshop, participants will explore concepts of editing while developing a basic understanding of Apple's Final Cut Pro editing software. Participants will learn to conceptualize the framing of ideas, how to stay organized as a editor, and develop a strategy for media management (both long term and short term).

Workshop projects involve the creation of a short promo for Portland Community Media. Selected promos will be distributed by PCM.

Workshop participants work on individual MacBook Pro laptops, while the trainer guides participants through the applications covered in the training, project creation and file management. Each session allows time for both technical instruction and project creation. The workshop fee covers all six sessions. There is no additional rental or lab fee for use of equipment during the workshop.
