SmartAccess
Portland Community Media (PCM) was awarded a matching grant from the Mount Hood Cable Regulatory Commission (MHCRC) to launch SmartAccess. Over the next three years, PCM plans to partner with six community-based nonprofits to expand media opportunities throughout the Portland metro area.
SmartAccess is PCM’s new approach to community outreach that will serve the technology and media education needs of underserved and under-supported individuals, populations and communities.
SmartAccess partners will host media training on-site for community members, constituents and organizational members in their geographic areas. Workshops will include field production, digital storytelling and other media training to meet the community’s needs.
PCM's current SmartAccess partners are: Central Northeast Neighbors (CNN), Sisters of the Road, the Office of Neighborhood Involvement (ONI), and Southwest Neighbors Incorporated (SWNI).
