PORTLAND COMMUNITY MEDIA BRINGS HOME THE BRONZE
32nd Annual Telly Awards Winners Announced

Portland, OR -- (October 18, 2011) The Winners of the 32nd Annual Telly Awards were announced and Portland Community Media (PCM) is the winner of a bronze medal.  With nearly 11,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, PCM is proud of the recognition from this year’s Telly Awards, one of the most successful and competitive in the long history of the Telly Awards.

We can not do what we do without you.

Volunteer participation enables PCM to provide improved services to the community, and supports our mission and values to reach out to those marginalized individuals and groups who are routinely underrepresented or misrepresented on mainstream media.

Volunteers and interns helped in a variety of ways in 2011, including: greeting guests, answering phones, and helping control the chaos at the front desk (you know how busy it can get!); answering technical questions; tabling events and helping to promote PCM public, educational and government services; assisting with youth groups; editing and graphic design; and delivering equipment to the shop for repairs. We would like to thank the following individuals for contributing their time to PCM:

Portland Community Media

Pictures of Studio A and Studio B control rooms prior to the upgrade. We can't wait to go full blown HD!

Portland Community Media is undertaking a major upgrade of systems to support high-definition production from acquisition to cablecast. Systems to be upgraded include the mobile truck, dub racks, both studios, our City Hall remote studio and playback. This project will span two fiscal years by the time it is complete, but major installations will be completed by summer 2012.
